Guardians at TH18
At Town Hall 18, the Town Hall itself is no longer a defensive weapon. Instead, players get access to Guardians powerful defensive units linked to the Town Hall. Guardians defend in Clan Wars and Ranked battles even while upgrading, but do not defend in regular battles during upgrades.
There are two types of Guardians:
1. Smasher Guardian (Melee)
- Targets ground and air
- Deals splash damage
- Drops a Rage effect when defeated
- Gets enraged when Town Hall is destroyed.

New Building Levels & Troop Levels
Troop Buffs at TH17 and TH18
Several troops receive permanent buffs:
- Minion Prince: Max HP reduced by 1000, but all of his equipment now gives +500 HP. This shifts his power more into equipment and helps balance him on defense.
- Donated Spells: Level 7 Clans can now donate up to 4 spells instead of 3, increasing support potential in Clan War, CWL, and multiplayer attacks.
- Giant Arrow: Level 18 damage increased from 1950 to 2000, allowing it to still destroy Supercharged TH18 Air Defenses in one hit.
- Heal Spell: Slightly buffed with a longer duration and faster healing at max level, making it more reliable for ground-based smash and spam attacks.
- Giant: +100 HP, +2 DPS
- Minion: +4 HP, +2 DPS
- Bowler: +50 HP, +4 DPS
- Super Giant: +100 HP, +5 DPS
- Electro Dragon: +200 HP
- Dragon Rider: +10 DPS
- Super Bowler: +100 HP, +10 DPS
- Super Minion: +100 HP, +5 DPS
- Thrower: +100 HP, +10 DPS
Meteor Golem
With this update new troop Meteor Golem can be unlocked at TH17 which can be further upgraded at TH18.

The Meteor Golem is made of two Meteormites stacked together, attacking by throwing one Meteormite at the target, which briefly splits them apart. They can recombine afterward either with each other or another Meteormite to form a Meteor Golem again. Meteormites can jump over walls while the Meteor Golem itself cannot, giving the troop unique mobility. They attack the nearest building but will switch to enemy troops if threatened.

That wraps up Sneak Peek Day 1 of the Town Hall 18 update! Stay tuned, Sneak Peek Day 2 is coming soon with even more exciting reveals.
Sneak Peek #2: Revenge Tower, Totem Spell, New Crafted Defenses, New Shop and More!
New Defense – Revenge Tower

- At the start of the attack (0 buildings destroyed), the Revenge Tower is inactive.
- After 5 buildings are destroyed, it becomes a single-target, high-damage defense with a slower attack speed.
- After 20 buildings are destroyed, its attack speed increases and shots bounce to a 2nd target, similar to the Ricochet Cannon.
- After 40 buildings are destroyed, it reaches maximum rage and can hit up to 3 targets at once with faster attack speed.
On defense, this building becomes more threatening the longer the attack goes on, punishing slow or grindy strategies and making late-attack phases much riskier.
Here are the Revenge Tower stats for Town Hall 18:
| Revenge Tower Level | Upgrade Time | Upgrade Cost (Dark Elixir) | Hitpoints | Max DPS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 13d | 430k | 5800 | 750 |
| 2 | 14d | 460k | 6200 | 833 |
New Spell – Totem Spell
- It spawns a big tanky Totem at the target location.
- The Totem can be targeted by both ground and air defenses (Cannons, Archer Towers, Air Defenses, etc.).
- When the spell lands, it lightly damages and stuns nearby buildings and defensive troops once for a short duration.
- That stun causes defenses in range to retarget onto the Totem, as long as it’s the closest thing they can hit.
- The Totem is counted as a troop and will stay on the field until destroyed.
- The stun radius is fairly large (around 6 tiles) and has a fixed 0.2s stun duration.
- The Totem does not trigger Rage or Poison Spell Towers, so it can’t be abused to “farm” those effects.
Unlock & level details:
- Unlocks with the new Spell Factory level, first available at TH16.
- Housing Space: 1
- 4 levels total:
- 2 levels at TH16
- 1 level at TH17
- 1 level at TH18
| Totem Spell Level | Town Hall Required | Upgrade Time | Upgrade Cost (Elixir) | Total Damage | Hitpoints |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

New Crafted Defenses – Season 2
The previous season of Crafted Defenses has ended, and this update introduces Season 2 with a fresh set of modular defenses:
General changes:
- A popup informs players that the old Crafted Defenses are removed and a new season has started.
- Town Hall 17 no longer has access to Crafted Defenses (TH18 becomes the top tier).
- Any ongoing Crafted Defense upgrades are refunded.
- The new season lasts 4 months (1 month longer than the previous season).
- Crafted Defenses still gain multiple visual stages based on how many modules you’ve invested.
Season 2 introduces three new Crafted Defenses:
Hero Bell

- Buffs defensive Heroes’ HP and DPS; the building itself does not attack.
- When the Hero Bell is destroyed, the Hero buffs are removed.
- Upgrade modules:
- Building HP
- Hero HP
- Hero DPS
Light Beam

- A single-target defense that targets both ground and air.
- Fires projectiles that lose power over distance:
- Higher damage when targets are close.
- Lower damage when targets are far away.
- Upgrade modules:
- Building HP
- Damage per hit
- Attack cooldown
Bomb Hive

- A splash damage defense that targets ground and air.
- Launches bombs in pre-set directions, which keep traveling until they hit a target or reach maximum range.
- Upgrade modules:
- Building HP
- Damage per hit
- Range
Full module stats and upgrade values are listed in the official Crafted Defenses Season 2 sheet, but this section gives you the functional overview of how each building works.
New Shop & Currency – Fancy Shop & Sparky Stones
Day 2 also introduces a new cosmetic progression system using Sparky Stones and the Fancy Shop.
Sparky Stones – how to earn:
- You gain Sparky Stones by:
- Doing Supercharge upgrades – 10 Sparky Stones each.
- Doing Crafted Defense module upgrades – 8 Sparky Stones each.
- All past Supercharge and Crafted Defense upgrades (done before the update) will be counted retroactively, granting Sparky Stones after the update.
Fancy Shop – what you can buy:
- A new Fancy Shop tab appears in the in-game shop for players who can access Supercharges or Crafted Defenses.
- At launch, you can spend Sparky Stones on:
- Meteor Builder Skin (one-time purchase)
- Exclusive Home Village Decoration (one-time purchase)
- Charge Effect that can be applied to any decoration
- Can be purchased multiple times
- Can be applied to any decoration
- In the shop, tapping the card highlights all eligible decorations
Meteor Builder Skin & Effects:
- After buying the Meteor Builder Skin, you can select any Builder Hut and switch between the Original and Meteor Builder.
- Currently, the selected skin applies to all builders, and builders are now rendered in 3D (similar to Guardians & Heroes).
- In the future, individual builder skins may be supported.
- The Charge Effect makes your decorated objects “flare up” together with Supercharged buildings, making your village visuals more dynamic.
This system is meant to offer permanent rewards for temporary content, letting long-time players show off their investment into Supercharges and Crafted Defenses.
Ranked Improvements
Ranked Battles also receive several quality-of-life and balance updates:
- Temporary troops are now banned in:
- Ranked Battles
- Clan Wars
- CWL Battles
- Inactivity handling in Ranked is adjusted:
- If you’re inactive for one tournament, you keep your League and bonuses for that week.
- To keep the same League for the following week, you must sign up before the next tournament starts (Tuesday 5:00 UTC).
- If you haven’t signed up by Friday 5:00 UTC, the UI will warn you that you risk demotion.
- Matchmaking inside a weekly Ranked group will now be less predictable, making pairings less repetitive.
- Promotion/Demotion percentages are adjusted for several higher leagues to better spread players and activity (exact numbers are in the official patch notes).
General Improvements
Finally, some smaller but useful improvements:
- Info screen added for Skeleton Trap Skeletons.
- Builder Base backgrounds now show in skin selection for Builder Base Heroes.
- Your own attacks no longer increase the game log message count in Home Village.
- The Inbox inside the game log gets a new layout.
- Revenge battles now have their own dedicated battle end screen.
- Battle log unit order is standardized as:
- Troops → Siege → Heroes → Spells → Clan Banner → CC troops → CC siege → CC spells
- Knocked-out defensive heroes now become transparent when near a ground unit, making visibility better during heavy ground fights.
These changes deepen the strategy around TH18, add powerful new tools on offense and defense, and give long-term players more cosmetic goals to chase through Sparky Stones and the Fancy Shop.
